Organic Hojicha is a unique Japanese green tea , created in Kyoto at the beginning of the twentieth century.

Unlike other green teas, its leaves are roasted, a process that transforms their color and aroma.

The organic version is made using environmentally friendly methods, ensuring a pure and natural product. Its low caffeine content makes it a popular choice even among children and those sensitive to stimulants.

  • Aroma: toasted, warm, reminiscent of wood, caramel and hazelnut.
  • Taste: soft, round, slightly sweet, with a pleasant smoky note.
  • Appearance of the leaves: reddish-brown in color, leaves thin or chopped, depending on the quality.
  • Processing: high-temperature roasting (between 150°C and 200°C) of green tea leaves (Bancha, Kukicha or Sencha), which reduces caffeine and develops warm, enveloping aromas.

Eastern method (Kyusu):

  • 4-5 g of organic Hojicha per 150 ml of water.
  • Water temperature: 80°C.
  • Infusion time: 30-45 seconds.
  • 2-3 infusions can be performed.

Western method (teapot):

  • 3 g of organic Hojicha per 200 ml of water.
  • Water temperature: 80°C.
  • Infusion time: 2-3 minutes.
  • It can also be enjoyed cold, as a cold brew: leave 5-7 g of tea to infuse in 1 litre of cold water for 4-6 hours in the refrigerator.
