Margaret’s Hope garden is considered one of the most famous tea estates in Darjeeling. Founded in the 19th century and located in the northern area of the region, near historic gardens such as Balasun and Ambootia, it owes its name to a story deeply connected to the owning family: in the 1930s, the garden was dedicated to young Margaret, the owner’s daughter, who had a strong bond with this place.

This renowned garden produces teas recognised for their more pronounced character compared to other Darjeelings, thanks to the significant presence of camellia assamica plants alongside sinensis cultivars and their hybrids. The result is a broader and more aromatic infusion, capable of maintaining the typical mountain elegance of Darjeeling combined with greater depth of flavour.

The Second Flush harvest represents the garden’s moment of greatest expressiveness. The leaves harvested between May and June develop the typical muscatel character, an aromatic signature highly sought after by connoisseurs of the finest Darjeelings. The TGFOP1 classification identifies a superior quality selection composed of whole leaves and carefully selected buds.
