This tea is deeply rooted in local culture , with a tradition dating back to the Song Dynasty (960-1279 AD), when a Zen master introduced this variety to the Yongchun region. Since then, it has become one of the area's most renowned teas, loved for its distinctive character and craftsmanship.
After harvesting, the Yong Chun Fo Shou leaves are sun-dried , followed by light oxidation. They are then carefully rolled and roasted, often using charcoal, to bring out the complex aromas and unique characteristics of this tea.
