Da Hong Pao Oolong Tea is a semi-oxidized tea of exceptional quality produced in the Wu Yi Mountains of Fujian Province, China.

This tea is celebrated for its unique aromatic profile, characterized by floral notes of orchid and mineral hints reminiscent of the rocky soil of its region of origin. It is one of the most prized and appreciated Oolong teas in the world, a symbol of tradition and refinement.

Da Hong Pao leaves are glossy, long, and curled, brown-green in color. When infused, they release a bright orange liquor that enchants the senses.

Harvest takes place every year in May, selecting two to four ripe leaves to ensure a superior quality product. This tea, in addition to being a delight to the palate , is known for its health benefits, thanks to its detoxifying, anti-inflammatory, and digestive-aiding properties.

  • Dosage: 5 grams of leaves for a 150 ml Gaiwan.
  • Water temperature: 90°C.
  • Infusion time: 10-15 seconds for the first infusion, gradually increasing the time for subsequent infusions.
  • Infusions: up to 6-8 infusions, maintaining the intense and mineral flavour.

Western preparation:

  • Dosage: 3 grams of leaves per 200 ml cup.
  • Water temperature: 90°C.
  • Infusion time: 2-3 minutes.
